Marquesa Gallery will participate in the International Contemporary Art Fair Estampa 2026 with six artists represented

Marquesa Gallery will participate in the next edition of the Estampa 2026 International Contemporary Art Fair, which will be held from 24 to 27 September at IFEMA Madrid. Considered one of the essential events of the national artistic calendar, Estampa brings together every year the main galleries of contemporary art and collectors, curators, institutions and professionals of the sector, consolidating itself as the great meeting of Spanish and Portuguese gallerism.

Our proposal will bring together Arik Levy, Lauren Januhowski, Rubén Martín de Lucas, Maria Brzozowska, Neill Wright and José Luis Ceña, six artists with deeply personal languages who, from different disciplines and perspectives, dialogue about landscape, identity, memory, matter and our relationship with the contemporary world.

A project that reflects the identity of Marquesa Gallery

The selection for Estampa represents the curatorial line of Marquesa Gallery: bet on artists with solid careers, promote dialogue between generations and promote an international vision of contemporary art. The coexistence of these six creators offers a journey through different ways of understanding painting, sculpture and artistic research processes, always maintaining the same objective: to generate works capable of remaining over time.

The artists we will present in Estampa

Arik Levy

Internationally recognised for his work in art, design and sculpture, Arik Levy has developed a highly-regarded career in museums, galleries and public spaces around the world. His research revolves around geometry, light and the transformation of materials, creating sculptures that seem to arise from natural crystallization processes. In his work, technical precision and poetic sensitivity coexist, inviting the viewer to reflect on the relationship between nature, architecture and perception. Its presence in Estampa reinforces the international character of the Marquesa Gallery proposal.

Lauren Januhowski

The artistic practice of Lauren Januhowski moves between painting, drawing and textile, building a deeply personal language in which memory, spirituality and ritual are intertwined. His works combine pigments, seams and delicate manual processes to create surfaces that function as spaces of contemplation. Each piece speaks of transformation, care and transmission of knowledge, establishing a dialogue between the intimate and the universal. His work represents one of the most interesting voices of the new international contemporary painting.

Rubén Martín de Lucas

One of the most internationally recognized Spanish artists, Rubén Martín de Lucas focuses his research on the landscape as a political, social and emotional construction. Through painting, drawing and intervention on the territory, he questions the limits that the human being establishes on nature and proposes new ways of understanding our relationship with the environment. His work combines a solid conceptual foundation with an extraordinary pictorial quality, becoming an essential reference in the panorama of Spanish contemporary art.

Maria Brzozowska

The painting of Maria Brzozowska is characterized by a figuration of great symbolic force and a mysterious atmosphere. His compositions feature characters and settings that seem suspended between sleep and memory, inviting the viewer to complete the narrative from their own experience. Through a careful construction of color and light, the artist explores issues related to identity, vulnerability and the subconscious, giving rise to works of great emotional and poetic intensity.

Neill Wright

From South Africa, Neill Wright develops pictorial research where landscape, geology and abstraction converge in a profoundly contemporary language. His paintings are born from the study of natural processes, topographic maps and transformations of the territory, creating compositions that oscillate between representation and abstraction. The material richness of its surfaces and the use of color make each work a space for contemplation that invites us to reflect on the relationship between nature, science and human experience.

José Luis Ceña

The work of José Luis Ceña investigates identity as a construction in permanent transformation. Through scenes where masks, figures and theatrical references appear, the artist reflects on the different roles we assume in our daily lives and on the distance between what we show and what we really are. His painting combines a solid technical mastery with a great symbolic charge, building images that invite a leisurely look and an open interpretation on the part of the viewer.
