From 9 to 12 October we participated for the first time in Estampa 2025, one of the most important contemporary art fairs in Spain. It was an intense, exhilarating and deeply rewarding experience. Four days of discovery and excitement shared with artists, collectors and art professionals.
For the Marquesa Gallery team, going to Estampa meant much more than occupying a space at the fair. It represented showing the essence of who we are: a young, independent and passionate gallery, committed to accompanying artists and collectors on the same journey.
A proposal that connects generations
Our stand brought together the works of four artists who reflect the diversity and character of our programming: Santiago Serrano, Rubén Martín de Lucas, María Brzozowska and Claudia Alonso-Allende. Four different views, four languages, but the same coherence around the reflection on time, identity and the relationship between the human being and his environment.
Santiago Serrano, one of the great names of Spanish painting in recent decades, presented a selection of works belonging to its Steel and Rose Days series, in which the pictorial space opens and folds into a set of planes and material resonances. His presence at the fair was, for us, a source of great pride: a way to claim a solid, deep and rigorous trajectory, but also fully alive.
Days of steel and pink, Mixed media on canvas, wood and iron, 114 x 145 cm. 2025
Rubén Martín de Lucas showed works from its most recent line. With his language between poetic and conceptual, Rubén continues to explore the critique of the footprint we leave on the planet, and his ability to condense social issues into works of a contained beauty attracted the attention of numerous visitors.
Bad wolf, Oil on canvas mounted on foam and wooden frame, 180 x 150 cm. 2025
Polish artist Maria Brzozowska, who continues to consolidate her international projection, presented new pieces within her surreal and symbolic universe. His work, recognizable by that balance between delicacy and dream power, captivated by technical mastery and the way in which it invites the viewer to inhabit inner worlds.
Pink hour, Acrylic on canvas, 80 x 60 cm. 2025
Finally, Claudia Alonso-Allende brought a fresh and deeply contemporary vision. His work, inspired by the tradition of Madrid frescoes, reinterprets mural painting from a current perspective, dialoguing with history and matter. His new works, conceived especially for this fair, aroused great interest among collectors and professionals.

The visit of Manuel Segade
One of the most special moments of the fair was the visit of Manuel Segade, director of the Reina Sofía Museum, to our stand. Talking to him about the work of the artists was a real honor, and receiving his congratulations for having brought the work of Santiago Serrano to Estampa was a recognition that moved us deeply. His interest and his words reaffirmed our conviction that Serrano’s painting remains an essential reference in the recent history of Spanish art, and that its validity remains intact.
A shared success
During the four days of the fair, our space became a meeting point. We received collectors, curators, critics, artists and the general public who approached us with curiosity and enthusiasm. The conversations were constant and enriching, often leading to reflections on the creative process, the role of collecting or the function of galleries in an increasingly changing market.
The balance could not be more positive: not only for the sales and contacts generated, but for the feeling of having shared an honest and coherent proposal with our project. In an environment where immediacy is usually imposed, we see that the art that is sustained by the authenticity and depth of the discourse continues to generate a real connection.
A Friday of art in the gallery
Coinciding with Estampa, on Friday 10 October we held a very special meeting in the gallery on the occasion of the Estampa fair. It was a night of celebration, reunions and new conversations. We were accompanied by artists, collectors and friends from the art world who wanted to toast with us for this important stage.
That event perfectly reflected the spirit of Marquesa Gallery: combining professionalism with proximity, generating spaces for exchange. Estampa and the exhibition Ahuecar by Santiago Serrano coincided in time, and this simultaneity allowed us to show two complementary faces of our work: the gallery as an intimate space, and the fair as a window to the outside.
Looking ahead
Participating in Estampa 2025 has been a key step in our journey. It has allowed us to consolidate relationships, open new opportunities and, above all, reaffirm our way of understanding contemporary art: from honesty, rigor and emotion.
We deeply thank all those who accompanied us at the fair and at the gallery: visitors, collectors, curators, journalists and friends who came to greet us or to discover our artists. Thank you also to those who worked with us on assembly, logistics and communication. And, of course, to the artists themselves, for their dedication, their trust and their courage in sharing their work.
We said goodbye to Estampa 2025 with the feeling of having lived more than a fair. It was a space for meeting, learning and celebration. A reaffirmation that art remains, above all, a human experience.
We continue forward, with the same enthusiasm that brought us here, preparing the next exhibitions and projects.
