Ahuecar: 50 años de pintura by Santiago Serrano at Marquesa Gallery
A night to remember
On Friday, September 12, we lived in Marquesa Gallery one of those nights that mark the history of our gallery. We opened the exhibition Ahuecar: 50 años de pintura, dedicated to Santiago Serrano, and we did it accompanied by many friends, collectors, artists and art lovers who wanted to share with us this very special moment.
The room was filled with conversations about Serrano’s work, reunions and new looks that discovered for the first time the strength of his painting. It was a warm opening, close, with the presence of the artist himself, who could feel first-hand the interest and admiration of all attendees.

Celebrating five decades of painting
The exhibition brings together a selection of works that cover the different stages of Serrano, from the seventies to the present. The route shows the evolution of a solid pictorial language, in constant dialogue, and always faithful to plastic and conceptual research.
For many of those who accompanied us, it was a unique opportunity to approach a fundamental artist of contemporary Spanish painting, whose work maintains all its validity and ability to excite.
A unique environment in Marquesa Gallery
Those who were at the opening enjoyed the exhibition, but also the experience of sharing together this tribute to half a century of creation. The images and video that accompany this article capture part of that atmosphere: the dialogue between works and visitors, the words shared with the artist and the energy that was generated in the gallery throughout the afternoon.

The exhibition can be visited at Marquesa Gallery (Calle Marquesa de Argüeso 38, Carabanchel, Madrid) from Wednesday to Friday, from 11:00 to 19:00, and on Saturdays from 11:00 to 14:30. We also attend private visits by appointment.
