A 4th of July to remember: art, flavors and emotions

On July 4, Marquesa Gallery opened its doors to an unprecedented sensory experience in Madrid: Assembly Table. An event that brought together two seemingly distant worlds — contemporary art and craft beer — to demonstrate that both can dialogue, inspire and excite in surprising ways.

With the collaboration of Jaime and Ernesto de Cervezas Yria, we managed to create a space where the public not only observed art or tasted beer: they lived it, felt it and turned it into an intimate and unique tour.

Beer as a Liquid Work of Art

During the afternoon, attendees were immersed in a journey through three exceptional beers:

Siesta: with its touches of red fruits and an evocative memory of Koyak chupachups, it aroused the nostalgia and mischievous joy of childhood.

Beek: a contemporary interpretation of the Belgian tradition, with notes of citrus and cereals that invited calm and connection with the earth.

Bauhaus: a beer-based liquor that closed the circle with its nuances of chocolate and coffee, enveloping the experience in warmth and introspection.

Jaime, sommelier of beer, guided with passion each tasting, unraveling flavors, aromas and processes that made each sip a discovery.

The Assembly Table: a sensory laboratory

The heart of the event was undoubtedly the central table: an authentic sensory laboratory where guests freely explored aromas, textures and words. Red fruits, citrus fruits, coffee beans, chocolate and yeast coexisted with cards that suggested emotions and concepts: “pulse”, “roots”, “beat”, “memory”.

The proposal was clear: invite attendees to join their own experience. There was no set path, only the freedom to touch, smell, observe and feel. The works of artists such as María Brzozowska, Claudia Alonso-Allende, Sophie Crichton or Rubén Martín de Lucas expanded the dialogue between the liquid and the visual, between the ephemeral and the permanent.

A vibrant and close environment

From the first moment, the energy in the gallery was special. Guests wandered from table to table, cup in hand, sharing impressions, discovering works and letting the conversation flow as naturally as the aromas of the room.

Moments of authentic connection were created: between the attendees and with the gallery space itself, which became a meeting point for art, gastronomy and curiosity.

At Marquesa Gallery we believe that art should not be a static object, but an experience that transforms. Assembling Table was just that: an event where each guest built their own sensory narrative.

These types of proposals are part of our vision of the gallery as a living space, where unexpected things happen and where the public is not a mere spectator, but an active participant.

We want to thank everyone who accompanied us on this very special afternoon. Thank you for your curiosity, your conversations and for letting you go. And, of course, our thanks to Jaime for his creativity and dedication, and to Ernesto de Cervezas Yria for making possible this pairing between craft beer and contemporary art.
