The work of Claudia Alonso-Allende (Madrid 1993) explores how perception and memory transform the way we see the world. Each of his works functions as a visual echo, where references to historical frescoes dissolve into abstract compositions, inviting the viewer to reconstruct images from their own memories and emotions.

His painting investigates the mechanisms of vision and memory, using unconventional techniques such as peripheral sight and mental reconstruction work to blur the shapes and eliminate the original narrative. Thus, his paintings become sensory landscapes, open to interpretation and subjective experience.

Madrid al fresco

Marquesa Gallery presents Madrid al fresco, the first solo exhibition by Claudia Alonso-Allende, an artist who transforms the visual heritage of classical art into a contemporary experience of abstraction and memory. Through his particular pictorial language, Alonso-Allende invites the viewer to rethink perception and navigate between memories and sensations.

This exhibition, curated by Professor in Art History José Manuel Cruz Valdovinos, stands out for its innovative approach to the fresco and its reinterpretation in a contemporary key, in a dialogue between historical art and current sensibility.

In Madrid al fresco, Alonso-Allende proposes a very personal tribute to the historical frescoes of the Community of Madrid, reinterpreted from a current, sensitive and deeply researching perspective. This unprecedented series of paintings starts from classic murals, not to represent them, but to capture the emotional echo they leave in the memory and perception of the viewer.

The exhibition, which is part of the program of the month of Madrid, offers a unique visual experience, where the connection between territory, history and personal perception becomes the protagonist. Under the expert curatorship of Cruz Valdovinos, Madrid al fresco is presented as an essential event for lovers of contemporary art and new readings of artistic heritage.
