Laura Segura Gómez (Pedrera, Seville, 1985) works between sculpture, installation and textile processes. His research focuses on the origin of matter and the links between body, territory and nature. Braiding, repetition and manual work make each piece a record of the time and knowledge passed down between generations.
It uses fibers and other materials that retain their texture and sensory presence. Contemplation, touch and smell are part of a practice that invites us to attend to the work beyond the image. In Marquesa Gallery, Musitar, curated by Sema D’Acosta, presents that relationship between matter, experience and care.
In 2025, IVAM added A Sacred Grass Braid (2022) to its collection. The installation is part of the context of A media lumbre, an exhibition curated by Blanca de la Torre at the IVAM in 2026.
