Last Saturday, April 26, Marquesa Gallery hosted a very special poetry recital. At 12:30 noon, in the context of the exhibition Magic in Bloom by María Brzozowska, the poets Zuria Gómez, Irene Isla and Silvi Orion offered a reading that proposed a dialogue between painting and the word.
During the event, the three poets shared their own texts that, in many cases, established direct connections with the works exhibited. The result was a different experience for the audience: a way to tour the exhibition through other languages and perspectives.

With the premise that art is an act of life, the recital offered a different way of inhabiting the gallery. It was not just about looking or listening, but about living poetry in relation to the dreamlike images that hung on the walls. Each poetic intervention opened a new space of interpretation and emotion, where painting and word illuminated each other.
One of the most special moments arose from the immediate connection between Zuria Gómez and the universe of Maria Brzozowska. When visiting the exhibition, Zuria was deeply impacted by the work Marzanna's farewell, a piece full of symbolism and sensitivity. From this spontaneous emotion was born a poem directly inspired by the painting, which he wanted to share with all the attendees during the recital.

The response from the public was exciting. Far from being a formal or estranged act, an atmosphere of closeness and true listening was created. There were no barriers between poets and assistants, but a simple and powerful communion that recalled that, sometimes, art is above all a space to meet, to let oneself be touched and transformed.
From Marquesa Gallery we want to thank from the heart all those who participated in this first poetic act: the public that accompanied us, those who lived the crossing of languages with curiosity and emotion, and of course Zuria Gómez, Irene Isla and Silvi Orion, for their generosity, their voice and their gaze. Also to María Brzozowska, for continuing to sow magic in every corner of our gallery and opening the door to meetings like this.
Because this was not an event.
It was a poetic act. And it flourished.
