Self-taught as an artist, she developed her visual practice after a professional career in fashion. An interest in characters, childhood and states of consciousness connects her different media. She approaches painting and moving images as complementary ways of exploring personal experience and the relationship between private and shared life.
Her painting process begins with intuition and movement. Music can establish an initial rhythm, while layers, scratches, corrections and erasures preserve successive decisions. Color responds to sensations that change as a work develops. Some paintings emerge from rapid interventions; others require repeated returns to the canvas. Both retain a tension between impulse, pause and revision.
Her exhibition A P A R T, presented at Swinton Gallery, Madrid, in 2022, placed the body and human scale at the center of the relationship between painting and viewer. In Daydreamer, held at Eighteen within V1 Gallery’s Copenhagen program in 2023–2024, broad gestures and quick lines coexist with open areas and figurative elements that emerge and dissolve.
Roudman’s exhibition history includes projects in Canada, the United States and Europe. In France she presented Back to basics (2024) and The First Thoughts (2025) at Au Cube in Saint-Laurent-sur-Saône, near Mâcon. The latter continued her interest in the wonder and complexity of childhood. In Canada her work has been shown at Only One Gallery, Toronto, and Masters Gallery, Calgary.
Her relationship with film became visible in Prōˌses, a short directed by Adrian Vieni and starring the artist, which premiered online on Directors Notes in January 2019. Conceived in dialogue with her painting, the project explores doubt and the inner conversation accompanying the act of creation. This attention to process offers a way into Roudman’s works at Marquesa, where gesture, material and time create an open-ended experience.
